Sound Tower

A sound tower made up of objects connected by copper wires to form an interactive instrument with a theremin and movement sensors. A prepared cassette in a tape recorder plays a slowed-down version of Beethoven's "Sinfonia No. 5 op. 67" within the device. This composition was one of several messages aboard the two Voyager spacecraft launched into orbit in 1977 in search of new life forms on other planets.
This piece was created in 2022 for the solo exhibition 'Shapes of Worlds of Shapes' at The Flat Massimo Carasi gallery in Milan.
